His approval ratings were mediocre, but he would've won if he had ran again. But considering his opponent, that's not saying much.

yes, there's such a massive Republican trend here that the GOP barely has a third of the seats in either chamber of the legislature and no Republican has gotten over 50% in any statewide election since 1994.
