Message to the NYU Law Community
Dear Members of the NYU Law Community:

Some of you may have seen a message from the president of the Student Bar Association regarding the horrific conflict in Israel and Gaza.  This message was not from NYU School of Law as an institution and does not speak for the leadership of the Law School.  It certainly does not express my own views, because I condemn the killing of civilians and acts of terrorism as always reprehensible.

The attack on Israel and the subsequent and ongoing hostilities have made this a period of extreme pain and distress for many members of our community.  Since the weekend, I have worked with administrators to provide support to students, faculty, and alumni who have been affected by this crisis.

The feelings that divide people in the world at large are certainly present within the Law School, but I hope that we are able to address them with compassion and mutual respect. The Law School’s leadership team will continue to provide the resources and support we can.

I never saw your post but I'll assume that it was effectively off topic spam at best very loosely related to the topic at hand, as about ~70% of your replies are. (And I am not the only one who has made this observation.)

Can I be blunt for a second and point out that a lot of elite colleges recruit a ton of international students, including quite a few children of very wealthy Saudi/Emirati/other Gulf Arab elites?

I think people often assume all these student groups are domestic when there's a lot...a LOT...of international students from countries that despise Israel involved in political groups at this sort of top college.

Also upon a little research this organization appears to consist of about 12 people.

Ryna Workman clearly isn't feeling good now, and obviously has a lot of hate in her heart. But she can overcome all of that through the love of Jesus Christ.

I hope and pray that she'll accept Jesus Christ and be able to rebuild her life as a new much better person!

The fact that so many of these are law students is especially disturbing to me. You're supposed to have some semblance of rationality to enter the legal profession, and ideally you should have some brains to get into one of these T14 schools in the first place. It scares the hell out of me that these of all people are supposed to be our future lawyers and leaders. It wasn't like this when I was in law school just 10 years ago.

The good news: I'm already seeing reports that this might well get a lot of these lunatics blacklisted from the legal profession, and they'll find themselves working at Subway instead of a Biglaw firm once they graduate from these top tier schools. THAT is karma.

I'm reminded of those two young lawyers who got disbarred and charged with a felony for setting a police car on fire in NYC in a BLM protest, what idiots. They could've done far more and better fought against police brutality had they just kept those bar certificates instead of burning that car. Although at least they were acting in response to a terrible thing in regards to George Floyd's brutal murder while these students are openly supporting brutal murders and terrorism.

"Canceling" genocide supporters is good, actually. It's unambiguously good to expose people who support Nazi tactics and let people know if they're going to be hiring someone who wants them dead.

Let me say that I agree with this with the caveat that it's referring to people who are actually pro-Hamas, which is a disturbingly large number now but obviously doesn't include everyone who is critical of Israel's actions or pro-Palestine. This also would apply to supporters of something like Otzma Yehudit.

Those posts "from" Cornell are actually from a site anyone can post at and apparently is regularly full of trolls. No evidence anyone at Cornell was posting them. Still threats that blatant need to be investigated and the poster held accountable. ("Poster" singular because they all have a very suspiciously similar writing style.)

Possibly, as Hamas is on the State Department's list of proscribed foreign terrorist organizations that it's illegal for American citizens to financially support.

One thing that's fairly amusing about the whole deal is that they were trying to solicit the donations via Venmo. An incredibly easy to trace (and reverse method), it'd be like Paypaling someone for illegal drugs (and putting "cocaine" or "heroin" in the info on the transaction.)
