Rybak and Franken are the only two Democrats in Minnesota?

I have. How badly will Franken beat her in the primary?

Roll Eyes

She'd also win the convention endorsement.

Franken hasn't even announced yet anyway.

He's mentioned the idea of running.

Perhaps the Democrats should nominate Collin Peterson.  Part of me believes that, were the Democrats to do this, this race would become the Pennsylvania of 2008.

He'd never win the primary and has absolutely no interest in running anyway since he just became chairman of the Ag Committee.

So having ruled Peterson out, any good liberal-to-populist Wink Democrat should do.

You just described Dean Johnson.

Yes but having just lost his seat in the Minnesota Senate is Johnson the best possible choice?

Dave

He just got screwed by massive turnout by social conservatives pissed about gay marriage. That won't hurt him statewide.

Jim Oberstar could beat Coleman if he ran a populist campaign on economic and business issues and a more center-right campaign on so-called moral issues.  I believe he is already on the board of "Democrats for Life".

Too old.

Read the article, people. Nowhere does it say he's definitely not running.

I never said he definetley isn't running but I think the comment is enough to say that he very likely won't run.

Like Bob Casey and Sherrod Brown?

Rybak has some issues now he really needs to focus on, so the comment makes sense. He's ran into a messy situation where he appointed a lesbian to head the fire department, but she turned out to be a lousy chief, so he got her sacked. But then he came under fire for appointing her in the first place with many people claiming he did so only because she was a lesbian. There was also some deal with the school board, I don't know the whole deal, basically some black guy on it is being a race-baiting ass and people are trying to get him to resign, and Rybak's kind of stuck in the middle of this mess.

Still none of this is a huge deal.
