Inland Empire.

Well about 36 minutes of it. Then I realized it was an illogical pile of horsesh!t and turned it off. And wasn't this supposed to be some sort of spiritual sequel to Mulholland Dr.? Ugh.

Monster.

I can't say in enough words how terrible and talky that movie was.

Talky? Yeah that sounds intelligent and sophisticated.

The acting and writing in that movie were stellar. My biggest issue was just getting over an ugly Charlize Theron. It doesn't help she's also basically my #1 celebrity crush currently (mind you, this changes very frequently.)

Street Kings.

Of course Keanu Reeves sucks at acting, and the plot was generic and predictable, but the action was really really good.

Anything out you guys recommend as a date film?  The only film out that I have the slightest desire to see is Religulous, and I...well...don't know her religious affiliation, and don't want to risk serious offense.  Plus, Bill Maher is a jackass.

Too obvious: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. That movie seems to be basically made for this type of thing. Also the only movie currently in the top 10 with a "Fresh" on RT.

Wow. "Bad" would be the understatement of the century.

Milk.

Excellent, truly great. My favorite part being when the news announced the gay rights ordinance in St. Paul and the theater broke into applause. It was nice to have that little nod to us in the movie. Hard to believe San Francisco used to be like that....

Changeling.

Why does it take Clint Eastwood to do what so many younger directors try to do and epicly fail; simple drama, no pretentious nonsense, no "Doesn't Society Suck" message (Are you Listening Sam Mendes?) just classic American style Drama put to perfection. Probably my favourite American film of the year, yes, that's ahead of No Country and There Will be Blood (I'm talking about Irish Release Dates, before anyone gets bitchy. You know who.)

Because Clint Eastwood is a right wing piece of sh!t, so it's not surprising you would like his horrid trash, especially this "Certified Rotten" as opposed to those >90% on RT movies listed that were released in 2007 (and by the way I consider foreign films to be released by the date of their release in their home country, like IMDB.)

WALL-E.

Yes it was awesome. Who would've thought you could get more humanity out of two inanimate mechanical characters than most movies have altogether?

16 Blocks.

There was a lot of cool things in it, but like many other movies (Inside Man comes to mind) basically operates on the assumption that the NYPD is the stupidest police department on the planet. Some polt hole-ish parts.

Frost/Nixon

Frank Langella is pretty amazing.

Really? I found his voice in the trailer to be the worst part.

Michael Clayton.

Meh, it was simply "good". Tilda Swinton won an Oscar for that? She was just competent. Same with Clooney, he did a good job but hardly nomination worthy. It really chugged and was interesting for the first half, but couldn't keep up the momentum.

The Tracey Fragments.

Seemed to me like the type of thing that would play on MTV in the mid-90s, back when they actually played stuff worth watching. Tracey didn't remind me of Juno much, but it did seem like the type of movie Juno would like, if that makes sense.

I thought Emile Hirsch had the best performance as no one else would've played that role exactly the same way.

The X-Files: I Want To Believe

Yeah it was really just a longer version of an episode of the TV show, but not a horrible one.

Requiem for a Dream.

My reaction was far different from everyone else's, I just liked the trippy, indie style of shooting. Made it more enjoyable than anyone here seemed to have thought. Just why the fuck was one of the Wayans brothers in a movie like that? Seriously, keep those douches out of anything good.

Slumdog Millionaire

A very interesting story though it had way too much of a Hollywood storybook ending.
