I think this is a distinct possibility:

-Vox's demographic target is virtually a total overlap with the demographics of hipster Christians.
-Vox's demographic target includes virtually zero Catholics.

Vox's readership share that are hipster Christians must therefore be significantly higher than the share of the general population, and its Catholic readership must be significantly lower.

I was reminded of this because my pastor quoted Vox tonight of course.

I've never read a single positive thing about Catholicism in Vox. And I read it a lot.

"Liberal Protestants" don't have the same overlap with Vox readership though since the group includes lots of olds.

There are plenty of liberal "Catholics" who completely swamp hipster Protestants in pure numbers, so probably not.

I've never read a single positive thing about Catholicism in Vox. And I read it a lot.

I'm not sure I've ever read a single positive thing about Catholicism from a liberal "Catholic" either. Wink

But how many "liberal Catholics" are in Vox's demographic?

But Vox hasn't even existed for a decade.

Funny, not too long after this this appears in Vox: http://www.vox.com/2017/1/18/14312104/islamophobia-catholics

Also kind of reminded me that most emergent blogs that get pretty political tend to be pretty akin to "Vox + Jesus" instead of what people typically associate with "religious left". Not sure what that means exactly though...
