The tribal protesters DID NOT want people like her around committing vandalism. They intended to keep the protests entirely peaceful. Some jackasses from way out of the area showed up and ruined that.
I talked to my mom about this a bit this weekend. The protests are very close to where she lives. Despite being a very conservative area, most people there were sympathetic to the tribal protests especially as they were completely peaceful...the outside people not so much.
How is spray-painting a bulldozer violent? And what exactly is wrong with solidarity?
Vandalism is also something they wanted to avoid. And the "solidarity" wasn't mostly from concerned activists but edgelord douches and in Stein's case a total political opportunist. It's like those douchebags unaffiliated with BLM who blocked an interstate highway in Minneapolis a few weeks ago and vandalized and threw rocks at cars* in "protest" over the Philando Castile shooting.
*of which I'm sure a non-negligible amount were driven by blacks.
