I've been home for awhile now, but did a lot of napping and "recovery" and didn't feel like logging on. Mostly caught up on sleep now thankfully. Immediate reactions:

-Atlanta's airport requires a lot more walking than the MSP one, but when entering to return it I kind of figured it out and the grid system, which is pretty well set up. And nice how it has a train that takes you to every gate area since there's 7, while our's has only two stops, and they're on the main light rail route.
-I might've seen Forsyth County (which BK has made me realize I've been pronouncing incorrectly the whole time) on my flight in from the air, though it seems weird I'd cross over a county to the northeast. Might've been somewhere like Cherokee instead. But still, almost every house on a cul-de-sac and forests everywhere otherwise. Ugly and made me think just how annoying and inconvenient that must be. It'd make driving even somewhere else in the same city annoying!
-MARTA is great. No clue why it's so controversial, it works better than our light rail system, and was quite useful Saturday night.
-This is weird, and probably due to the fact I visited only a relatively smart part of the city near academic centers, but the city I've been to Atlanta most reminded me of is Madison, Wisconsin. And at times Indianapolis, which might be related to that prior to this Indianapolis was the most "southern" city I'd ever been to.
-The percentage of blacks in attendence was only slightly higher than in comparable events in Minnesota...so yeah, we like to pretend the state is why our Ingress community is so lily-white, but that actually isn't the case.
-I'm a bit surprised by how Bacon King sounds like he's from Iowa or central Illinois most of the time, though this probably would come in handy when visiting elsewhere. Although as he pointed out, he can develop a bit of a drawl when talking to someone else who has one, which I noticed.
-While we're at it, Birmingham, Alabama seems to be a bit more cosmopolitan of a city than I previously thought, talked to a lot of people from there (including our captain) and many of them had no drawls at all, one guy said he was originally from Illinois but our captain wasn't, and he didn't sound southern in the slightest.
-I'll give you this though it's not surprising: Authentic southern fried chicken IS way better than elsewhere. Had some at the after party where I ended up sitting next to a guy with a Twins cap incidentially, who is originally from here and has visited recently and met some of my teammates. As soon as he mentioned "the guy with the Tesla" I knew who exactly. Weird how those things happen.

No I flew in and was only in Atlanta for the Ingress anomaly. Actually the first time I've ever been in the former Confederacy aside from a middle school family vacation to Disney World.
