My little memorial that's been around for a bit FYI...

(It used to be opebo123, but I switched it recently because 314 is St. Louis' area code.)

Did I miss something? Do you live in St. Louis now?

No, but opebo was from there.

oh my god that's ing creepy

i know some of you miss the guy but really

Actually when I changed it the first time (which was a week or two after he was banned) it was primarily because it was something that's easy to remember and type in, as I frequently have to disconnect my iPod and phone and reconnect to the network.

I think you're also failing to take into account that it's quite practical. "opebo" is one of the easiest words for me to type because I've typed it so much it's quite embedded in my muscle memory. The only reason to tack on the digits is because an iPod Touch requires an at least 8 character password.

I used to use "jmfcst" and some digits as a password too for something else for a similar reason.

In terms of things that are OK to do online, sharing your password with strangers is probably at the bottom of the list just behind "sharing your social security number" and "sending money orders to Nigeria."

Well I guess if anyone here ever comes to Minneapolis, finds my apartment building, hangs out near it and identifies my network name, they can get free wi-fi as long as they're there. Otherwise knowing that password is good for absolutely nothing.

I voted FA on this, just because BRTD just shared his wifi password with complete strangers and has shown no shame whatsoever.

If it was like his personal login credentials or the code for his bank, then I would be laughing.

That's actually the main reason I made this, I was curious if there'd be any freakout over the "OMG YOU SHARED YOUR PASSWORD!" thing, even though it's actually significantly less of a security risk than if I left my wi-fi completely unsecured. I've also already given my password out to a couple of my neighbors too.

Mind you there's also a coffee shop with free and likely faster wi-fi just across the street anyway.
