This was a debated topic at work today. It came up over discussion of The Crow.

Two other good candidates would be Clueless and Reality Bites.

Con Air

Well, most 90s action movie ever.

You've obviously never seen The Crow. It's one of those movies without knowing beforehand you can still pinpoint its release date to only a 2-3 year range despite not including any explicit references to current events or famous people.

A recent Cracked article touched on this. The columnist named Mrs. Doubtfire, Space Jam, Independence Day, and The Rock.

I reckon you need a dumb Adam Sandler movie in there. Maybe The Waterboy?

Try explaining the plot of that movie to someone who's never seen it. They'll assume the writers MUST'VE been on acid or something.

"See it's about Michael Jordan who meets the Loony Tunes. He needs to train them to play a basketball game against aliens."

BTW some blogger discovered the original website for that movie is still online and untouched. Have a blast from the past and enjoy the 1996 internet!

If you're going to include an Adam Sandler movie, try Billy Madison. Also the only movie from that era of his that's watchable to anyone over the age of 16. (I said "that era" because he had a handful of decent roles in atypical movies for him like Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me.)

Good pick. So few have seen that movie though...but it does definitely have a feel of being not able to be made in any other decade despite no issues with technology or whatever. I was thinking of it but yeah as noted, just so few have seen it.

LOL. Sneakers O'Toole premiered in 2007.
