Omar was premiered. Obama's favorite character huh? He has potential.

Whoa episode 8 brought the drama.

Episode 9 always gets pretty intense, before the subdued denouement episode 10. It's like Game of Thrones.

You must be thinking of something else or season 1's the exception because episode 10 was anything but subdued...

I'm kind of glad Stringer Bell got away for now though. He's a pretty smart and good antagonist and I bet he'll get his coming in the later seasons.

Yeah I'm nearing the middle of Season 2 now. Actually I think this one is kind of right wing, makes unions look corrupt and willing to defend criminals in their ranks. Kind of krazen-esque.

Wow Omar's pretty badass with the way he stood up to the annoying Simfan clone who everyone else let get the best of him...I just wish he had finished that very annoying character off.

hahah I never thought about the Simfan-Brother Mouzone connection

But brtd sorry but you have the worst opinions on The Wire characters. Literally no one else likes Ziggy and hates Brother Mouzone.

It probably has to do with the fact that Ziggy is like your typical independent dramedy protagonist character while Mouzone is basically Simfan. But that scene had more to do with how much of a badass Omar is. He always delivers. And Ziggy was pretty well portrayed and acted in that scene where he killed the awful Greek criminal but obviously couldn't deal with shooting the innocent bystander clerk as well.

Omar reminds me of this in the Twin Cities Resistance who mostly plays solo and doesn't participate in our team events or big operations usually, but drives the Enlightened crazy because he always gets the best of them and they can never expect or predict him.

After all the hype about season 3 I was a bit let down by the premier, not bad by any means but definitely not up to the standards of the show. But of course I remembered that the last two seasons also started slow and built up. Episode 2 already brought it. It opens with possibly Omar's best scene yet (which is saying a lot), shows some brutal and gritty things like the dogfighting while keeping you engaged, and has a classic scene in where that police captain got a well deserved thrashing. And it's clear things are getting serious already.

Don't know about this Tommy Caricetti guy so far, we'll have to see how his mayoral campaign plot fits in with the rest of the story. I'm also pretty sure he was intended to be a blatant Expy of Martin O'Malley.

No I haven't finished it yet. Got caught up in the Olympics and some video games. Last episode I finished was the one where the cops got told to let the dealer go because he was heading to the free zone.

So now McNulty talks to Barkesdale's mother and is quite convinced correctly this wasn't a suicide. To be honest this is an interesting plotline development but it feels like it should've been done a lot earlier. This is all old plot stuff at this point. Then again a lot was happening near the end of season 2 so there might've not been enough time.

Also I kind of wish that episode had more Omar.

No, I got caught up in things like visiting ND for a bit and some job hunting I've been doing.

I'd watch at least another episode tonight but I have a job interview fairly early tomorrow. Probably will tommorow night after work.

I've got enough call center experience to get an upgrade. There's plenty of jobs that are just easy but pay more, they just require experience.

The bit awhile ago where that dumb cop accidentally killed the other cop was pretty intense. Seems like this part might be heating up, but the last ep was kind of boring procedural stuff, basically that captain getting ripped on for establishing that free zone so drug dealing wouldn't happen in other areas.

Oh man Stringer Bell. That was definitely something you wouldn't expect or see coming.

He was a pretty terrible person on balance though, so I can't say I'm upset or anything.

And so ends Season 3. Not much changed. I guess that was the point. Avon Barksdale is done, but it's obvious Marlo will just replace him. The free zone experiment is done. And despite the loss of Stringer Bell, it's clear things won't change in Baltimore much. But I'm happy for the appearance of Caricetti who will obviously play a bigger role in future seasons. He might be the best written character so far.

I got distracted after seeing just the season 4 premier. Thanks for the reminder I should start again.

I should point out that it's not an accident I tend to go through TV shows fastest and the most through the winter months (see avatar)...
