Anyone else noticed this?

Basically goes like this:

1-Some event happens.
2-Lots of people tweet about it, some saying things very stupid (for a most recent example see the racist tweets about Miss America.)
3-Some site highlights all the stupid tweets.
4-All the stupid tweeters get hounded and many delete their accounts.

The Miss America one is a great example. About half those accounts are deleted, and another good chunk have either hidden all their tweets to non-followers or simply wiped their accounts. Not the first time either.

A lot are also accounts planted by a media outlet to say something stupid, then they conveniently disappear.

wow

no

I for one am so thankful that twitter has given us the opportunity to publicly shame ignorant people. And the ignorant people spouting off about Miss America were the ones who shut down their accounts because for the first time their terrible views were put under public scrutiny outside of whatever little racist bubble they live in. And then of course there were a few who refused to back down, instead offering a half hearted apology or insisting that they were just joking.
If we publicly shame everyone who puts something stupid on the internet, then this post of yours should be the first to go up.

What is so stupid about it? The point is quite valid, the Internet has limited people's ability to be stupid and bigoted without ridicule.
