Let's revisit a classic:

Excellent line, and absolutely accurate.

Clearly the extreme right-wing Republican economic ideology of favouring the elite with privilege increasing tax policy leads to far less jobs than would be available with a redistributionist Keynesian economic policy.

And just as clearly, the Republican Party is the party of jingoistic nationalism and xenophobia, getting itself elected not only with hatred of minorities within the country, but fear of dark people outside it.  Thus they are far more prone to wars - it pleases their hate-filled base.

Fast food bacon cheeseburgers and Diet Dr Pepper every day? Please. Eating unhealthy is one thing but eating the same crap is a waste of life.  Before you even start eating a weird vegan health diet like you plan on, you need at least try to eat different kinds of junk.

I'm chowing down a chicken shawarma right now. Is that healthy at 1 am? No, but damn it's better than a bacon cheeseburger 14 times a week.

Also I don't know who in Madison is mooching. It is a very prosperous, well-educated, and wealthy city.

I don't understand the hate.  She's a brilliant, thoughtful, engaging person.  I can't think of someone better qualified to be President.

I guess what I don't understand is how Hillary as President would result in quantitatively inferior results to if another plausible candidate became President.  Maybe if you want radical conservative policies, sure.  But, if you're moderate to leftist, Hillary could deliver results as well as anyone could.

What I don't understand is how anyone could actually entertain themselves watching sports teams they're not a fan of in non-critical games. It'd be like a political junkie entertaining themselves by watching the returns on R+30 state representative seats in Alabama.

No, honestly. I don't see how anybody can take a look at "hipster Christianity" and say that would be the best of all potential outcomes for Bushie. Other than cutting off the even more damaging Obese Baptist influence, I don't see how going to BRTD's church would provide a positive influence. You're going to have to elaborate, keeping in mind that we are dealing with Bushie, and not a keen philosophical mind.

One thing to consider is that Bushie basically buys into prosperity theology even if he doesn't say so. But he does believe that God is going to provide him with all these riches for being faithful. You will not find that type of attitude in hipster churches. Furthermore I'll also point out that part of the reason he wastes so much is that he probably views himself as entitled to things like his mega-cable package for all his righteousness, other attitudes you will not find in a church with a "check your straight white male privilege" message.

I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that they are.  Some people were speculating that it was, just because he talked about religion at some point, but that seems like quite a reach.

Yes, because that's a ridiculously unnatural cross-segment of the population that can only really be attained if a church is going out of its way to not be universal. By the same token, churches that are ~90% over forty aren't as creepy, but are far more depressing.

Don't all churches target specific demographics to one extent or another?  Just because some more openly go after non-traditional, less normative groups doesn't really make them existentially different in any way, I'd say.

There is no "universal" church; there are only churches whose particular demographic slices are read as "normal" by dint of having more prestige or history or maybe being a little wider or whatever.
