Tech Workers - what is a "tech worker"? If we're talking about the engineers who work at Google and Apple, then Democratic. If we're talking about the small business IT guy in flyover country with a certificate in server maintenance, then Republican.

Does Minnesota count as "flyover country"? Because if so that's definitely not true.

Someone who lives in the Minneapolis suburbs and is an independent IT contractor in all likelihood voted for Romney. In fact, I'd wager money that he did.

I'm thinking of how the IT people at my job, along with the management for that matter, are pretty blatantly not Republicans (things like having a bet and the loser has to wear a McCain/Palin shirt the next day). Maybe this is due to them not living in the actual suburbs.

Firefighters - 50/50, quite a few are Reagan Democrats I imagine.

You'd have to be at least 48 to have voted for Reagan today, so I doubt there's that many.
