he was no conservative. what conservative says that military spending is robbing from the starving poor? He also ended the Korean War, established the Interstate system, stood up to Orval Faubus, helped put an end to McCarthy and signed America's first Civil Rights law.

it's actually true from every election from 1940-1956. I liked Dewey too. Then Republicans started getting so crappy in the 60s and beyond.
