I don't see how Harris loses the AG bit especially with all of San Francisco still out. And the Birther lady is gaining.

The Birther lady actually appears to be stronger in the urban areas.

Alright, I'm taking suggestions for silly write-ins.  I thought of either writing-in myself or Invader Zim.

32%. I take it you did not vote for her and are very embarrassed by 1 out of 3 California Republicans?

Of course!  I will concede that a third of the GOP are nutters (more in some places), if you concede that close to an equal percentage of the Dems are of the same ilk. How about that? Smiley

Once someone as crazy wins a third of the vote in a Dem primary. How well did Kucinich do?

You talking about Carly "Israel" Fiorina?

Fiornia and the other American worker hating CEO did a lot better than 32%.

This is why I hate active threads like this.  I quoted the wrong post, I think.  I assume it was DeVore who got 32%.

No, the Birther lady.

WTF Nevada, really?  Tarkanian AND Lowden were both great and you chose the wackadoo that will serve one term at best.

Mrs. "Let's fund our health care system with chickens" was great?

16 would require a 2/3 vote to allow any public entity to get involved in business involving electricity utilities, so basically an anti-"OMG SOCIALISM" type thing.

17 is an auto insurance backed thing that would allow companies to offer lower rates just to lure in new customers but would probably result in higher rates overall in the long run.

Props. 16 and 17 are looking like they won't be able to be called for several hours.

Refresh my memory on what those are?

16 is about making it tough for municipalities to go into the electrical/gas utility business to compete with the legal PG&E monopoly, and 17 is about overriding insurance regulations, that one cannot offer a discount to someone who has insurance with another insurance company, but wants to switch to a new one, because one had insurance (it is legal to offer a discount, if you have stayed with the same company). Mercury insurance put this one on the ballot, and funded it, because for some reason, they are crazy enough to want to insure more California drivers, and increase their market share. Others claim, that it will cause everyone who does not switch to have higher insurance premiums. Where does the truth lie? I have zero idea, and I am not sure anyone else does either. At least nobody bothered to write anything coherent and persuasive as to what the reality is, that I saw. I guess it is just too complicated and boring for the press to spend real time on this one.

Let's put it this way, if Mercury Insurance poured millions into it, is it more likely to benefit them or consumers?

What were the arguments for Prop 16? I doubt almost 48% of Californians would vote for something based only on "OMG SOCIALISM!"

"Taxpayers have a right to vote before GOVERNMENT RUN ELECTRICITY is imposed."

Pleasantly surprised that it lost.

So it was nothing but "OMG SOCIALISM" after all?
