Did Bush mean an end to American conservatism? Stupid question really.

What is commonly called social democracy worldwide is just called liberalism in the US. Obviously liberalism means something completely different worldwide. Remember that in most countries social democracy and socialism are considered different things. The question is basically asking thus "If Obama is a failure, does that mean the end of American liberalism?" and hence how silly it is becomes obvious.

American liberalism basically IS social democracy though. It just got misnamed with a different ideology name when that word means something totally different everywhere else.
