Hello folks. As if there weren't enough political groups around, I thought I'd make another. The premise is simple. We all take a pledge (sound enough like a cult, yet?) to be as active as possible in our governance. It's a simple act to take such a pledge, and something that transcends political boundaries. I was thinking the pledge would be rather simple:

I pledge to be as active in Atlasia as I can be, and do justice to the positions to which I have been elected/appointed. I pledge to resign from office if I or a majority of my electorate believe that I have failed my promise to be active. If real life concerns interfere, I pledge to inform the public, and make a prudent decision of whether or not I can reasonably continue to hold office.

I'm torn on whether or not to include that second sentence about resigning from office if one fails to meet that standard. Thoughts?

Not to be Johnny Raincloud over here, but this 'pledge' is kinda common sense.

One would think. Take a look at the state of the Senate, if regional politics aren't your thing. There's constant difficulty to try and get Senators to opine on certain issues, and it's a bit tough just to get people to vote.

While we're on the topic of taking pledges, I thought I would dredge this up.
