The debate is raging hot over whether or not Saving Private Ryan on broadcast TV. Many watch groups think that it is too violent to show.
My question is: regardless of what you think of violence on TV, should movies like Saving Private Ryan be allowed to air on network TV when the violence in those films is not gratuitous, but rather is a true dipiction of reality or an actual event?
Yes, it should be shown. I'm strongly agaisnt censorship, but especially when the violence is realistic. It's an accurate dipiction and thus definitely should be shown; it does society good to see what really goes on in war.
Schindler's List was allowed to be shown as well, as well it should have been.
