Anyway, Jewdas are an anarchist collective with a very strong penchant for caustic satire. Perhaps accepting the invite was not the greatest PR move under the circumstances given that they (obviously!) have less than great relations with the more consciously respectable institutions/organisations of British Jewry (see the quotes above), but this is very far from the GOTCHA story the media seemed to be assuming last night: Jewish antisemitism is a thing that exists, but this group is really not an example of that phenomenon, whatever you think of consciously provocative anarchist collectives.

Agree. It's bad timing and judgment from someone who should know better by now.

Kinnock has spent more time in a Prime Ministerial residence (as his wife is the former Danish PM) than Corbyn likely ever will.

I might well record that one, actually. Certainly interesting to hear it. At any rate, the fear of 'white genocide' is definitely a thing among the far-right and will probably only increase as the US declines.

Well, when the letter came out saying she was aiming to increase the number of deportations, that was close enough to being a 'target' that her argument became unsupportable.

This said, wonder how long before this new liberalism over immigration enforcement disappears.

This said, wonder how long before this new liberalism over immigration enforcement disappears.

That's not what this is about though is it? It's about the Kafkaesque targeting of a community no longer regarded as being an immigrant community. Which will upset even the least likely of people.

Some still consider them an immigrant community, although those tend to be the same sort of people who like Britain First.

Also, the 'hostile environment' policy was and is very much down to public wishes. The Home Office tried to cater to the mob and hurt innocent people in the process.

Ultimately, the way to fix illegal immigration is to create a more equal world. People migrate for a reason and it's often because of poor life prospects in their home country.

Can someone bring me up to speed on what this scandal is?

In short, increased enforcement action against illegal immigrants led to long term legal immigrants who couldn't prove their status losing their jobs and facing deportation.

This is basically what the far left did with the USSR... once it failed, it was clearly never Marxist.

Still on a number of UK websites; his arrest is at any rate. Robinson is a bigot who wants freedom to spread hate. His live video was almost certainly about inciting racial hatred and he's on a suspended sentence for contempt of court, basically for doing the same thing.

You commit another offence during a suspended sentence, the original jail sentence is activated.

Because riling people up against a so called threat tends to get innocent people killed.

It's a multi-part trial with other juries yet to start; you can't keep 36 people sequestered for multiple months as it costs a lot of money for the taxpayer.

Yes, true. But it was also a lot easier for us to enact single-payer healthcare and actual gun control.

On the whole though the Government is in a very similar situation to Labour during the 1970s; a serious of close parliamentary votes, general chaos at every division, a deal with a minor party, trying to deal with a major political, and economic crisis, whilst appeasing about 3 different factions.

The Tories can just thank the heavens that there MPs are a lot younger than the Labour benches were in the 1970s.

I'm sort of wishing the Tories did win a stomping victory in the election. Corbyn would have gone and we'd not have this Brexit mess.

This is a party whose entire representation could fit in a minibus. They can be ignored now.

About the only women in the UK who wear burkas are Pashtun women - there are only around 100,000 Pashtuns in the entire country, they're pretty geographically concentrated, only half are female and not all Pashtun women wear them (including the most well known Pashtun in Britain, Malala Yousafzai). Most British people have never seen a woman wearing a burka except in television reports from Afghanistan. The niqab is different - it is something you will occasionally see (and because it's so striking you'll remember seeing it, something that often leads to a false impression of frequency), but is still rare.

Some concerns raised about this topic are sincere - Johnson's tediously grotesque bomb-throwing was not, of course (the fact that he is clearly not aware that burkhas do not have eye-slits is rather telling) - although, unfortunately, there's a tendency to confuse signifier and signified, to object to the visible manifestation of a certain set of problems rather than to the problems themselves. This means that even well-intentioned interventions are rarely helpful.

Here's how to tell the difference:

I currently work in Stratford, they're common there.

Are Jewish communities more "Jewish" outside Israel?
