Yes, while Corbyn may well have made some unforced errors, that's just picking on him for picking's sake.

And yes, she is one of those Benns; granddaughter of Tony via the current Viscount Stansgate.

Interesting how neither the Benns or Milibands have continued in the radical family tradition.

Thing is, Benn wasn't that radical for much of his life.

The police don't actually have a shoot-to-kill policy and it is highly questionable whether one would even be legal...

Police forces in most countries have a 'shoot-to-disable' policy. The quickest and most effective way to disable someone i.e. put them on the ground so they can't shoot anyone is a centre-mass shot i.e. in the chest or abdomen. With hollow-point ammo (legal for law enforcement but banned in warfare) that typically tends to lead to death, especially when 'regular' officers i.e. non-marksmen get involved, as they will tend to fire multiple shots.

Anyway, I sincerely pray that we don't get a situation like Paris occur in London, but we have to prepare for the possibility.

Getting back on topic Corbyn does still have some serious problems with scoring media own goals.

Kosovo wasn't approved by the UN, but Libya (which was voted on) was.

We're making unforced errors at a greater rate than Andy Murray...

Time for Livingstone to retire for real.

Shouldn't have run in 2012 quite frankly. Oona King would have been better.

As can be seen here, most polls other than the ComRes Sunday polls have shown a Con lead over Lab of around 6 or 7 points, fairly similar to the election result.

That's still not good. Problem is for all the media hostility, Labour keeps giving them material.

While John McDonnell has just overtaken everyone in something...

I'm sure he meant well, but the optics of that are just awful.

You should not have to find out a key policy decision made by your boss on social media. That's basic.

I think Labour has to allow a free vote here - IMHO, free votes should be the norm for any decision on military action.

There's been a stabbing at Leytonstone Underground Station in East London, three injured, one seriously. A man has been tasered and arrested - saying apparently "This is for Syria".

Sources are multiple for this, but here is the Sky News report.

Shirley Williams is retiring from the Lords. I thought people typically retired into the Lords?

You can 'retire' from the Lords - you just stop turning up. In the case of Shirley Williams, she is 85 now.

Dave Prentis easily re-elected as Unison General Secretary, which is not exactly a surprising development though will certainly annoy Trots everywhere.

Not to mention the Daily Mail.

(UNISON member myself, didn't personally vote for him, but wish him congratulations).

10 most popular suggestions from Guardian readers on how Corbyn can improve

I think Labour has a strong message, unfortunately we've gone back decades in the way we're presenting it.

The problem for Corbyn is that he can either have a competent ShadCab or one that agrees with him. He can't have both.

Ah, but I won't disagree that having to put into 'context' Comrade Corbyn's naive views on certain matters while on the doorstep would be time better used more constructively...

Yes and the same applies to the media.

Every school in England will be forced to become an academy by 2020, apparently.

The consequences of the Labour Party's ability to miss open goals continue.
