If DeSantis loses in 2022, the 2024 election is already over.
If he wins his re election he might be our next president.

Honestly, I think so too. Pence is just too conventional and wouldn't know how to run a dynamic winning campaign. DeSantis also knows how to counteract the increasingly powerful arm of the Democratic Party - mainstream media and big tech - on both their framing and focus of issues. It's a skill that will be needed if any Republican wants to win the presidency going forward. Also, just being a somewhat competent governor of the third-largest state that is diverse and growing is a huge asset.
