Interesting, but ultimately, I think it'll be unsuccessful. The GOP is too entrenched as the party of one kind of thinking in the voter's minds. The criminal justice reform will be nice if it goes through, but everything else will just reinforce the GOP's current image, whether for good or ill.
Criminal justice reform won't happen, not with this Republican party. Unless by 'reform' they mean 'cracking down' or stricter penalties, it is directly contradictory to what the conservative attitudes are when it comes to crime. A few good people like Mike Lee and Rand Paul will support it, but that's about it.
