Before I clicked in, I was surprised you of all people would use a misleading thread title. Then I thought the tweet was paraphrasing. Then I played it.

Damn.

Why is it so hard for people in the US to understand that we are not a democracy?
A limited government constitutional republic is what we are even if the government disregards the restraints placed on it and the people do not hold it accountable. "Overthrowing democracy" doesnt even mean anything, but saying it does show ignorance on part of the speaker.

We're a representative democracy, not an absolute democracy, but still a democracy.

This needs to be a bigger story than it is. Sadly, the mainstream media is Trump TV these days, and I'm not even just talking about Fox News.

MSNBC covered this. I literally saw it on there.

Looks like this year's annual CPAC fearmongering thread is going to fall short compared to last year's regarding the "trans genocide". Don't worry, there's always next February.

A speaker at the conference explicitly called for democracy in this country to be ended. Do you really think this is not worthy of criticism?

That's a day with no answer. It is possible you missed the question I suppose. But for now I will assume you do think it is worthy of criticism unless told otherwise.
