Many countries have national holidays in order to cebebrate an important event of the building of the nation.
US: July 4th
France: July 14th
Brazil: September 7th
Argentina: July 9th
Mexico: May 5th

In Germany, the national day is the Day of the Reunification, October 3rd. This is a recent event, it took place in 1990. Did Germany have other national day before 1990?
