I disagree withe criticism.  He is the President-elect.  It's a legitimate use of the title.  "Office" is meant in a cyber sense.  The ".gov" is appropriate because he is now dealing directly with the executive department in the transition.

I generally do have change some of my letterheads as soon as some title changes.

I guess someone is going to have to explain to me the hubris here.  This seems more like a fruitless attempt to keep the grassroots sense of his campaign intact.  I see maybe a vanity gesture to activists, not really hubris.


I'm not seeing any huge problem.

As for being an "icon," so was Michael Jackson (and no, I'm not suggesting any improprieties on Obama's part).  It can have some problems.
