Obama just needs to act like he acts when he's campaigning. His rally in Colorado today was fantastic. Show that enthusiasm and energy during the next debate and he'll be back in control of the race.

Whenever Obama attacked during the debate, his numbers dropped.  He has to show enthusiasm without attacking.

He needs to stick the knife in with a wink and a smile.

His attacks were not shop, but they cost him support.  If he goes sharper, it could hurt him a lot more.

he doesn't need to 'attack', just highlight where Romney has said something during the campaign and where he reversed tack or outright lied in the debate...

As soon as he referred to Romney negatively, Obama's numbers dropped, even when it was for legitimate policy comparisons.  I was surprised.

Well, had Clint brought in the empty chair, it might not have been quite so bad.

It is recoverable.
