My thought
1. Kobach is "dangerous" candidate
2. Kansas folks are tired and fed up with 8 years of Brownback's terrible administration
3. Kansas is not that red actually
All of the above. It could be on its way to becoming a swing state, especially if Republicans continue alienating the suburbs.
Not unless Republicans manage to blow up half the countryside (given the GOP track record in Kansas, this shouldn't be written off as a possibility)
