Outright targeting CMR and Ryan a year ahead of the actual midterm - this is going to be brutal. The thing is, if tax reform doesn't pass, the amount of negative press that Ryan's going to get is going to make his seat Lean D.

Given what the TCAJ Act does, passing tax reform might get him killed anyway. Isn't WI-01 wealthy suburbanites?

Also didn't know Mia Love was in such a competitive district. That's probably the strangest district in America - 50/50 district in Utah, controlled by a black Republican woman. Of course, that might not be for long if they manage to recruit someone nice for that seat.

Democrats got their best possible recruits for both WA-5 and UT-4... Lisa Brown and Ben McAdams, respectively

I don't see WA-5 flipping, maybe a 53-47 election?

The district hold counties like Garfield that vote overwhelming Republican, and usually have high turnout (even though not very populous)

Democrats are gonna have to rely on Spokane, and Whitman counties to win.

Was that Tom Foley's old district?  I am pretty sure he was from Spokane.

Correct.

Those rural counties are tiny, though, and shrinking. If Brown gets good margins out of Spokane, Pullman and keeps Cathy’s MOV low in the Valley and Walla Walla then we might have a race.
