I will not join the senate, I hereby step down and wish you guys luck on everything.

Goodbye, Dan a.k.a. Josh22 Tongue

Interesting...possible case of voter fraud.

I'm not expert on Atlasian law, but hasn't the Statute of Limitations passed for challenging the election results? Within an hour of his admission, actually?

Nice timing, guys. I'm sure you'll still move forward with the challenge of Marokai's vote, though. Roll Eyes

Didn't know that CCJA had a statute of limitations, bgwah...

So can I still challenge his vote or not? Help me out, man--when you're applying for your lawyer jobs, don't you want to be able to say "Supreme Court Judge of Fantasyworld" on your resume and have it mean something!?

lol

Challenging vote = Two methods possible:
1) If you want to challenge the constitutionality of the statute either on its face or as applied;
2) If you want to argue that the CESRA is not completely thorough and does not cover the vote applicable (does voter fraud announced after the S/L trump S/L - not literally according to statute, but I find it an interesting Q)

I was bringing up the prospect of criminal charges, should the AG be interested in actually doing work, not the prospect of challenging the vote.  Sorry.

Damn.

Damn, Damn, Damn. I hate sock posters. I especially hate sock posters who ply their wares in Atlasia.

From what I hear now Dave agreed to it because nobody took Josh seriously. Then he did this, turning himself into even more of a joke unfortunatly.

Dave knew?

Yes that what Dan told me at least. He said he was tired of being harassed by DWTL and BRTD and Dave appearently approved the creation of this sock. The reason why he suddenly left the RPP to join the DA, when he joined, was he realised that DWTL was our leader.

Did the mods?

Nothing was every posted in the Mod thread saying such, even though there is a post questioning devilman88's identity from March 30 from Masterjedi and a post from Alcon that it traces to NC.  I read the post, but unfortunately I just skimmed it and didn't put together the 2+2 = 4.

My mind has been on other things the last couple of months, so I should have been more in tune with this person's postings.

Nevertheless, I am registering a complaint that some of us, at least, were not notified about this.

May faith in the mods has never been lower.

Also, I'm a bit hurt, because I trusted "Dan" alot.

Did you read what I just posted, Marokai?

How long did you know about it, MJ?

Why the hell are you mad at us? Dave let him have the account and didn't tell us. And what if we did find it out? If Dave even told us I'm almost positive we wouldn't be able to tell anyone about it.

I am more disappointed with Dave for allowing this.

We need to make sure josh22 is not lying first, which is quite possible given his history.

I've already posted my comment on the mod board.

I did. Questions of his authenticity posted, traced posts going to North Carolina, blah blah. My complaints are mainly the fact that I and others have bitched to you people to do IP checks and kick in gear with authenticity checks on a great number of posters, and all I and many others have gotten is a depressing silence in response. I'm not at all surprised that we have another sockpuppet slip by us. Heaven knows how many others are amongst us.

In MJ's thread, Bacon King said the IP check came from High Point, NC on March 30.

Alcon then said:

I didn't give it a second thought, unfortunately, but I really haven't been reading the forum heavily over the past few months.  Also, I am not the most skilled person in tracking IPs.

So, we did certainly check the IP, but when Alcon said that, I'm guessing that no one went further.

I would like answers from Alcon and Dave on this matter.

Dammit, every time this happens I don't know the person.  Who is/was Josh22?  A member search doesn't bring that name.

Too bad though, I had a rather high opinion of "Dan".

Try searching Josh4Bush. He had an independent Avatar from NC, he also had a big thing for Kay Hagan in the last election and was so sure she would win for months before it even looked possible.

Okay, so I looked over josh4bush's latest posts, which were in March, and found nothing objectionable or controversial.  What did this guy do?

He was accused of being a flip-flopper & teased over it.

He was also picked at because of his sexuality.

You actually believed him?  Seriously?

The posters who go back a while here, especially to the 2004-2005 period, like BRTD, Keystone Phil and persons including myself, those who others have claimed were "asses" to him, have watched this same game played over and over again by josh22.  That's why we act the way we do.

It goes something like this:  1) josh22 takes on a new identity (whether forced on by IRL or to get attention from other members of the forum); 2) josh22 takes identity too far or says something really stupid and people call him on it; 3) josh22 complains to other people or the moderators about those posts, whines and says he's going to leave; 4) josh22 goes away for a couple of weeks (2-4 usually); 5) josh22 returns with new identity (maybe a Leadership Conference or whatever) and the cycle begins again.

Btw, the "Leadership Conference" line is entirely real for those of you who weren't around the forum at this time (it was a new identity for josh22), and is up there in forum classics with Naso's "I love the Chinese, they have great food", Assad's "Duck sauce and jEW Republic" and Waltermitty's "FF/HP".

Trying to actually get a new ID to play the above-stated game is new for josh22 and a new low if Dave Leip allowed it with knowledge, without squashing his old account and without letting anyone know.  Of course, I'm not sure that josh22 is telling the truth (which fits in well with his personality of fundy Christian/wanna be fag), so I refuse to make any judgment until confirmed or denied.

josh22 is an ID that came up after Fritz left the forum I believe, so I don't blame him for not knowing either.

I just want to say, I step down, because I lied to most everyone and was living a lie. And Atlasia needs someone better then that. I still love this game and wish it the best of luck, but it needs someone better then me. It was hard for me to step down and leave, but if I didn't and people found out who I was while in the senate, it would have hurt the game very much so. I'm sorry and wish you guys the best of luck.

Will you do anything in the future?

See you in a few weeks, josh!
