Just as bad news for Dems is that the black is ahead in AR-02, 53-47 (still only 66% in)

Is that the Little Rock seat?

Yes.  It is the most partisan CD (and I'm sure has the most liberals for Arkansas), but that doesn't constitute a majority (at all).

Manufacturing employment is very, very high in that area [SW Arkansas]. Might have nothing to do with anything, but it was the first thing to come to mind. Wallace did well there in '68, but that goes for all of traditionally Democratic white rural Arkansas...

Ah, yes.

Well, Wallace 1968 numbers in the South are not that indicative of that much (other than white voters).

Churchill County went for Angle... with Lowden in third.

Reid also only got 53%, but I can't be that surprised there.

Fiorina has yet to be declared the winner. Does that really mean anything?

Sometimes these news networks amuse me.

Angle's going to win by more than you think because the more recent votes will show the Lowden implosion.

My thoughts on Arkansas:

Arkansas is my second home (Maryland is where I live, of course). I know how different their state Democratic Party is from the national entity. But I wanted Bill Halter to win SO bad. But I'm proud of him. He made it close. His message was clear. And I hope he runs for Governor in 2014 (or as an Independent in this race, can he do that?)

As for Blanche: Gotta give her credit, she pulled it off. And I'd rather her win in November than Boozman (although I'm fully prepared to see her lose; I know how it is). Her Wall Street reform bill should be pursued more aggressively now; she may have defeated Halter, but as I said before, progressives made their voices count, and I really hope she realizes that and tries to get their support.

What can I say? My Arkansas roots are strong. I can't help it.

The progressives were part of what defeated Bill Halter.  Just so you know that the reactionaries aren't the only ones who screw up.

Oh, I can definitely see how that was possible in Arkansas. I just kept the hope up to the end (the polls from the last few days certainly didn't hurt in this case, either).

Gotcha.  Fair enough.

IA-3 GOP primary is kinda interesting in that Zaun won by getting 52% in Polk County (Des Moines), and naturally where his state Senate seat is and either losing or performing weakly everywhere else.

Who is supposed to be the strongest candidate in the General?

In theory, Gibbons because he raised the most money by a good bit.  I think the political class in Iowa may have wanted Zaun.

We'll see - Boswell has been a weak incumbent for almost forever imo.

So basically you're saying he won where the people are and trailed where the people aren't.  That usually wins elections - and is a pretty good strategy.

Zaun seems to have done worst on the fringes of the district, some (but not all) of which are counties outside the Des Moines TV market.

It shows that he's probably a pretty good rep at the "constituency" thingy - and was, of course, helped by the numbers as you pointed out (not all of his district is in Polk, btw).  That may or may not mean something come election time.

Nothing much appeared to happen after I went to bed - Harmer won in CA-11.  I thought Angle might get to 40% based on the gains in Clark that was showing up with the newer voters.
