It’s not the worst idea. There is a clear economic line from good education to better jobs. Education is basically a really protracted apprenticeship for people under 18. If the agencies were merged, then maybe school could do a better job preparing students for the adult work force, teaching vital skills like
  • How to do your taxes
  • Understanding and debating a contract
  • Creativity
  • Typing
