I would.
I'm a highly political individual. It is my field and I care deeply about it.
I also have a few family and friends that are incredibly conservative. Perhaps not to OP's extreme, but to the point that has made me cringe in the past.
I still will engage with them. I understand the arguments that it goes beyond politics, and it does. But a lot of things do that wouldn't make me cut ties with a relative or close friend. It isn't a common topic among us and when it is the amount of absurd statements that they make is still in the small minority. But I like to think my relationship with them can continue even when we have radical disagreements on things.
