I'm surprised that the West has more Filipinos than Chinese.

I'm amazed how prevalent Indians are in the East coast, and even in the South.

It would really be cool to see a map for this, but in the 1970s.

According to the 1970 census, Japanese were the largest nationally.  More than 90% of Asians in the US were Japanese, Chinese, or Filipino.

Japanese were almost the largest group in Hawaii.

The distributions would likely be totally different since there are over 12 times as many Asian Americans today.

True, Asians were only 0.8 % of the US population in 1970 and 4.8% in 2010.
