Given his low approvals among Americans (and even negative approvals in his home district), he
could have been in trouble if he didn't have 3 Tea Party challengers splitting the vote in Gurr, Ashworth, and Winteregg, but then again they tried recruiting behind one Tea Partier in 2012 and failed then to only getting 16% of the vote, so the Ohio Tea Party can just never catch a break and Boehner has nothing to worry about. He's a lot more unpopular than President Obama is to, so going to Fitzpatrick's, Joyce's, Coffman's, Southerland's etc. won't be of much help to them and what he should be doing is not wasting his $11 mil on his own re-election and giving it to vulnerable Republican incumbents elsewhere. Besides, if he wants to be personally fearful of anything, it's not OH-8, but it should be whether or not he can hold onto the Speakership in 2015.
And kind of OT from this, but the sole, write-in challenger Boehner had from 2012, James Condit, is running again but this time with the Constitution Party and he seems to have gotten enough signatures to get on the ballot this time. It won't change anything, but this is a regular perennial who normally runs down there. There's shockingly a Democratic primary to and despite it being a safe district, it's great when all parties (Tea Party Republicans, Democrats, Constitution) can come together and just hate on Boehner.
And yeah, that ad is the most scripted bull[Inks] I've ever seen. They've either completely forgot that the government shutdown happened or they're so stuck-up that they don't think it was Boehner's fault at all.
