Without RCV, Palin wins the primary and it’s just her and Peltola on the ballot, and Peltola still wins. It’s incredibly stupid to consider the combined first round R vote as the “real” results, but whatever. Cope.

Not really as you wouldnt have Palin and Begich attacking each other literally a day before the election .

I also have to imagine at least some of the exhausted Begich votes may not have fully grasped RCV and would have been a Palin voter in a straight up Palin vs. Pertola election. Still, an amazing day for RCV and democracy!

I didn’t realise until this that Palin had divorced Todd, and that his parents backed Begich.

Also that Begich's prominent family members endorsed Pertola. These family riffs in Alaska are serious!
