Yeeesssss! I will cement my soon-to-be annual tradition of irrational exuberance towards the Indiana Hoosiers Illinois Fighting Illini Football Team which leads me into a bottom 20% finish!

Still pumped, though!

This year has to be the year, right?

And after removing my homer glasses, I would not be at all surprised if Illinois compiles more wins than Indiana. B1G East is more of a gauntlet and Lovie has been recruiting some really good talent out of St. Louis, while Indiana has been losing talent to a resurgent(ish) Purdue

I think we really might see some improvement from the team this year. Sounds like we are getting closer to having a B1G offensive line (which we just have not had in a long time), and we have a QB that fits our offensive system. These have been our greatest weaknesses, so improvement here should go a long way.

I would be satisfied with an Illinois season with wins including: Kent State, Western Illinois, Rutgers, Minnesota, and maybe one of USF, Purdue or Maryland. If we see that success, as well as simple competence when playing in the B1G, then I think we making great progress and are on track to being a bowl team next year.

P.s. I love how much attention Illinois gets on this forum lol.

Hey everyone on this thread. Please consider signing up on the other thread for our fantasy football league this year. We need at least one more, but if we could get 3 more that would be fantastic. Just shoot me a DM with your email if you want to join. Thanks!

Really disappointed, to say the least, in Michigan. Especially since at times, in certain ways, they were playing a good game. Defense in the second half was great. The offense was humming when McCaffrey came in. But there is just something about Harbaugh teams that cannot get all their **** together for 60 minutes in a tough game. Also the clock management was disastrous. Just going to be more of the same from them this year. 4 losses.

Surprisingly impressed with Notre Dame. Not here to crown them as a playoff team, but they appear to be top 10 for sure.

Illinois got wrecked this week but at least I got to go down onto the field during the game! Plus my adopted team Michigan destroyed Wisconsin and is BACK. Love how football is going this year.

My upset of the week: I'm pickin' Purdue.

I won't even watch Illinois. Sad  Got friends and family coming into town (Iowa City) to tailgate, so I will follow on my phone and hope for a miracle.  I plan to stop having to care by the second quarter.

Yeah no I'm going to wait for a get-my-hopes-up update to check in on the game and, you know, get my hopes up. I don't think it will be a lose by 50 game, but its hard to think we will have any chance. I'll be much more invested in the Michigan-$party game.

One day Ohio and Alabama will not be unbeatable. One day someone else will steak the spotlight. I’ll probably be dead by then, but someday.
