Going back to the possibility of NY charges, is there any reason why NY prosecutors would hold back / are holding back from charging these people in NY? If this is the backup plan, why wait until Mueller is fired?

I tend to defer to the people in charge on these matters. Not this time.

Who the hell is going to hold these guys accountable? They’re launching a full-court press on not only Mueller and the Justice Department but the idea of an independent Judiciary, and nobody even seems to care.

One of the many destructive horrors of Trump's ongoing destruction of the United States is the way it makes people numb and unable to grasp the scope of the damage he is wreaking, which enables him to do even more damage with less resistance. We truly are witnessing "it happening here". My gf wants us to join her parents in Canada (they emigrated and retired there like 20 years ago because they liked BC, not for political reasons) before we go from early Nazi Germany to full Nazi Germany. I'm not confident she is wrong.

While I’m not sure I think we need to worry about Nazi Germany type stuff yet, what does keep me up at night is the fact that such gross abuse of power goes completely unchecked and is invincible to the outrage. Are we really supposed to believe that if we get rid of trump that we will go back to normal moral standards? The damage has been done, and it will not be fixed by basically flipping a switch. That is what scares me most about the future, that a next guy will come along and get a free pass for terrible crimes.

In layman’s terms, what exactly does all this mean?

If he refuses to answer questions, and if the GOP Congress refuses to press the matter legally, does that mean any effort to question him just stops?

Mueller's team has officially proposed dismissing charges against RICK GATES, following last week's guilty plea.

So they are getting so much from Gates that they are willing to let him walk free?

That tweet was vague. He still has 10 charges against him, but the other charges will be waived.

That makes a lot more sense. Still good stuff appears to be on the way!
