"Thank you! Mr. Chairman and Delegates, I proudly accept our party's nomination for President of the United States of America! Before I begin, there are some people that need to be recognized. President Bush, for leading our nation over these last four years. My wife Judith, for standing by me through everything. Senator Hutchison, for running with me. Chairman Gillespie, for organizing this great convention. And, most importantly, the American soldiers, seamen, and airmen who are overseas combating Terror and making the world a safer place for everyone.

...

Our nation is at a crossroads. We have a prosperous economy. We have strong relationships across the globe. Our homes and families are safe at night. America is a respected figure abroad. We are doing well, as a nation, as a society, and as a people. We must continue down this path of success and progress. There is another path. A path filled with despair and depression. A path where there are no jobs, where America is laughed at by other nations, where our children's education is of the lowest quality. I will keep America on our current path - the path of prosperity.

My life has been devoted to helping America be the best nation she can be. As an assistant Attorney General and a U.S. Attorney, I took on organized crime and made our streets safer. As Mayor of New York, I helped America stand back up after the September 11th attacks. As Vice President, I've stood up for the rights of the working man.

As President, I will continue to make America the best place to live and work. I will raise the minimum wage in a responsible fashion. I will extend the Bush Tax Cuts so that all Americans can keep more of their hard-earned money. I will fight Al Qaeda and terrorism across the globe, until all people can rest easily at night. America is the strongest nation on Earth and it is time that we step up and defend those we cannot defend themselves.

...

I believe in America. I believe in the stars and stripes. I believe that America is the greatest nation on earth. I believe that, in America, everyone has the chance to succeed. Regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity people have flocked to our shores for the hope of opportunity because they, too, believed in America. We must not close the door on these immigrants. My presidency will pursue serious and legitimate immigration reform so that many others who care about America, who believe in the stars and stripes, can live here, start families, and find meaningful employment.

...

These next few months may be rough. There will be lots of hours put into the campaign. There will be many nights were sleep is not available. But I know that we can make it through it. I know that we can win this! Thank you, God Bless you, and God Bless the United States of America!"

Giuliani Campaign and RNC Ad to run in the following states:

Believe in America

America is the land of opportunity. People from across the globe have been coming to our nation since it's creation on the promise of hope, liberty, and jobs. Was it your parents, your grandparents, or your great-grandparents who made the trek? Perhaps it was a more distant relative. Regardless of who it was, they came here for shelter from the oppressive regimes that run rampant in other parts of the world. But not here, not in America. America has always been a safe-haven for the poor, the tired, and the ill. Rudy Giuliani believes in this America, the safe America, the America that welcomes all to it's shores. It's time to believe in America once again. Paid for by the Republican National Committee and the Committee to Elect Rudy Giuliani.

Giuliani Campaign Talking Points and GOTV Efforts (August 29th-September 2nd)

Friends,

We've had a great convention. Let's continue off of that moment and ride the wave to November.

The campaign has adopted a new slogan, one that Vice President Giuliani presented at the RNC. It is "Believe in America". Shirts, hats, water bottles, signs, and bumper stickers are going to be made with this phrase on it. The phrase should be included in speeches by surrogates and in canvasing efforts by volunteers.

We need to push the Vice President's strong suit - the War on Terror. Senator Biden favors and immediate drawback of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a dangerous policy that will make America and the world less safe. Vice President Giuliani supports the War on Terror because he saw the damages on 9/11 hands on. He was right there when the dust cloud swept over Manhattan. Volunteers should bee sure to stress this to voters when canvasing and surrogates when barnstorming.

For surrogates: The RNC and the Campaign will be hosting many "Hometown Townhalls" over the next few months. These will be town halls/meet-and-greets in churches, libraries, and small businesses where local voters can come out and meeting senior campaign staff. Surrogates are being asked to give the RNC a list of cities where these "Hometown Townhalls" should be held, as well as donate some time to appear at them. We feel that these are going to be critical to our 50-State Strategy.

To volunteers: Part of your job is to spread information about the "Hometown Townhalls". Once we have a finalized list of cities it will be distributed to State Chairmen, who will then give it to the appropriate volunteers. We're asking that volunteers stress the importance of these events and encourage all, that can, to attend. Over the next few weeks the campaign will be doing numerous phone banks, state-wide, across the nation (New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, West Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado). We need volunteers to staff these and make the much needed calls. There will be three shifts: Noon to 3PM, 3PM-6PM, and 6PM-9PM.

Governor Johnson and Congressman Kucinich are playing larger roles in the race than we expected them to. We have to ensure that voters are aware that ONLY Vice President Giuliani has a reasonable path away from big government and towards economic prosperity. Governor Johnson appeals to the Libertarian Wing of the Republican Party, a section that is critical to the Vice President's success in the Western States. It is important to stress that only Vice President Giuliani has the ability to win 270 Electoral Votes. Governor Johnson may be the ballot in enough states to win, but he does not have a shot at winning anywhere close to enough Electoral Votes. This should be mentioned to voters while canvasing. Congressman Kucinich pulls more from Senator Biden's base than the Vice President.

I believe that we can win this, even though the polls show Senator Biden with a small (within the margin-of-error) lead, if we stay strong. We only have until November 2nd. That means we are going all out, nation-wide, and sparing few resources.

Thank you,
Mary Matalin,
Campaign Director

Excerpt From Press Conference
Reporter: Have you seen Senator Biden’s ad “Pity Party”? How do you respond to it?
Vice President Giuliani: I saw the ad, if you can call it that. It doesn’t make sense, it’s incoherent. If Senator Biden wants to play dirty, let him, but at least do it in a way that the people can understand. We watched it in the campaign’s central office the other day and we all were left scratching our heads.

Reporter: General Wes Clark said...
Vice President Giuliani: Let me stop you there. I respect Wes Clark, and I thank him for his service. But he’s just wrong. Primaries for Mayor were scheduled for the 11th. We had to postpone them. Michael wasn’t elected until November 6th. There was a lot of time between the attacks and Mayor Bloomberg’s inauguration and I was right out there on the front lines of search and rescue and recovery efforts. Even after Michael took office, I stuck around and helped out in every way possible. To insinuate anything else is insulting and wrong.

Statement from the Giuliani Campaign

There has been a change in the Vice President's campaign schedule. Instead of having a one-on-one interview with Brit Hume on September 9th, the Vice President will be giving a televised address from his residence in Washington. All media personnel with Secret Service clearance are invited to attend and carry the address. There will be a pool stream for those who cannot attend.

(Vice President Giuliani is standing at a podium in the first floor library of Number One Observatory Circle. On his right, seated, is his son, Andrew, and daughter, Caroline. On his left, seated, is his wife, Judith. Members of the press are seated before the podium, with a camera in the back. The feed is be distributed to all major news outlets.)

My fellow Americans, good evening. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes, on the television, radio, or internet. Tonight I am not addressing you on a matter of policy or a piece of breaking news. I am not addressing you as your Vice President. I am speaking tonight as a man, a husband, and a father, on a matter of principle.

On Father's Day 1995 I failed as a father. I left my son and met, privately, with my Press Secretary for three hours. This was a bad decision on my part. It was Father's Day, I should have spent the day with my son and my family. But I'm only human. I've apologized to my family many times for this. We've reconciled ourselves and moved on past it.

Senator Biden and the Democratic National Committee recently launched an ad called 'Father's Day". The ad, in a cruel and blunt fashion, takes aim at my personal failings from nearly a decade ago. For the Senator to bring up a wound that my family has worked hard to heal is wrong - plain and simple. I had hopes that this campaign would be a positive one, a race where the dueling ideas for America's future are present in pleasant debates and discussions. Clearly, Senator Biden does not agree with that hope. My campaign and the Republican National Comittee would never run an ad taking aim at I ask that Senator Biden retract the ad and apologize for its content.

Thank you, God Bless you, and good night.

OOC: This escalated quickly. Now the VICE-a president of the United States is giving a nationally televised addres? How often does that happen?

OOC: If Richard Nixon could do it as a candidate for Vice President (see: Checkers Speech), I imagine it's fine for the sitting Vice President to do it once.

Giuliani Campaign Talking Points/GOTV (September 10th-18th)

The campaign is doing well, our numbers are up, fundraising hauls are getting bigger, and the turnout at events is through the roof. These are all because of the excellent efforts on the ground by volunteers and surrogates. Keep it up, victory is in sight!

Volunteer Talking Points:
Senator Biden has been playing dirty, using the DNC and Senator Lincoln to sling the dirtiest mud Presidential elections have seen in a long time. Spiteful. Angry. Aggressive. These are not terms one wants applied to their President, but all of them apply to Senator Biden easily.
The Senator has also been trying to portray himself as an average American who can relate with the factory workers and middle-class voters. This simply isn't true. The Senator comes from wealth, being born into an oil family, and has a long history as a Washington Insider. He's spent more than three decades in the Senate, long disconnected from the constituents he claims to represent.
Vice President Giuliani stands in stark contrast from the Senator. His father had trouble holding a job, and he had to support himself through college and his early adulthood. The Vice President is a much better example of an average American than Senator Biden.

Surrogate Talking Points
Senator Biden is a hypocrite. He now rallies against the Iraq War but in 2002 he voted for it. He wants us to cut out of Iraq, undo all the advances our sons and daughters worked hard to make, and let Al Quaeda and Islamic Extremists take back Iraq. This is a dangerous policy that will show the world America is something it isn't - weak on terror.
In the field of healthcare, the Senator is wrong again. He wants to push towards universal healthcare coverage, a noble attempt that he is going towards by the wrong means. Vice President Giuliani will bring in doctors from across the nation, experts in all area of healthcare, and form a policy that will provide the greatest quality of care for all Americans, their children, and the elderly. Forming a policy without the input of doctors and healthcare providers is pointless.
The border must be secured. This is a basic principle of the Vice President's campaign, one which the Senator has failed to address. The Vice President will increase the number of border patrol agents across the border, as well as support the double-fence proposal along the border. This is only have of the solution. We must also simplify the process of becoming a citizen by legal means, so that there is not a need to immigrate illegally. Deportations of those who come to America illegally must also be pointed in a new direction, so that the children of those who come illegally are not punished for the missteps of their parents.

Thank you,
Mary Matalin and Karl Rove,
Campaign Director and Chief Political Strategist

Giuliani Campaign Ad, running in the following states

A Time For Choosing
My fellow Americans, our nation is at a cross roads. We have two options - prosperity and security or distress and danger. We can be safe in our homes, or we can live under the fear of Al Quaeda. We can stand up to terrorists, or we can let them win. We can really fix our broken immigration system, or we can spew talking points. Only Rudy Giuliani is prepared to keep America on the right path - the path laid down by Thomas Jefferson, Abe Lincoln, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, and George Bush. Paid for by the Committee to Elect Rudy Giuliani.

Giuliani Campaign Radio and TV Ad, to run in the following states

The New Democratic Party
In my youth, I was a Democrat. I supported John and Bobby Kennedy, and I even voted for George McGovern in 1972. I proudly voted for these great men and I'll openly admit that I supported the Democratic Party of the 1960s and 1970s. That's not something I'm ashamed of. What I am ashamed of is what the Democratic Party has become. Even as early as 1975, I saw it coming - A wave of super-leftist liberalism that left no room for the middle-of-the-road people like myself. This isn't the party we want in charge of the White House. If they can't compromise with themselves, how can they compromise with the Republicans? The Republican Party is truly a big tent party that welcomes members from all ideological sections of life. We know how to work together, and we'll do it in the White House. I'm Rudy Giuliani and I approve this message. Paid for by the Republican National Committee and the International Association of Fire Fighters
