I was hoping you'd provide some photo so I could finally find out what one of these so-called exurbs is. Regardless, I can't imagine myself being sickened by a general class of place, especially the type that I might live in.
I used the term "exurb" a couple of weeks ago.
The area where I grew up (Peculiar, Missouri) had a relatively low population density--probably less than 1 house per acre. And yet, a sizable proportion of the population commuted into Kansas City every day.
Basically, I meant a place that looks rural-ish but is within the orbit of a large city.
