From the way I see it, States doesent understand the difference between running for two offices at the same time, as he would if he had continued to run for president, and running for president but still be in the middle of their term.  I know in the last presidential Hughento, Akno, and I think Nation decided not to run for reelection because they were all running for the white house.  However Harry, htmldon and MAS all continued to stay in their positions because they were not up for reelection at the same time.

Since States has been here forever, I expected him to know this difference.

I think this tradition is in here just to discourage people from running for two things at once.  When you get down to it, the population of Atlasia has enough people who are hungry to run for something, and allowing people to run for two things at once discourages this.

This tradition stuff is nonsensical bullpoop. The way the system is set up I can never run for president because my reelection comes up at the same time as every presidential campaign. I have the right to hold my senate seat as long as I want to and as long as I feel I want to. I hold no ties to nonsense tradition. If you want it changed, get a clue and make a law.
Its not that you cant run for president, its that you have to make a choice.  And if youre truly interested in running for president, like Hugh and Nation and Akno before you, you would choose not to run for reelection.  You have the right to keep your senate seat if youre not running for president.  Its not ethical to run for two offices at once, especially in Atlasia where people are chomping at the bit to win office.  If you really want to run for president, follow tradition.  If you wanted to run for both, you can, but expect less votes.  Its that simple States.

You're wrong of course. But believe what you want.
How am I "wrong of course?"
