I find it hard to believe that Cuomo would win 63% of Illinois when in 2008 Illinois's Favorite Son Obama could only win 62% of the vote in a decisive D victory overall.

White - Martinez 74% Gillibrand 25%

Surely you mean something like Martinez 60% Gillibrand 39%

If Martinez won 74% of the white vote, that would put her in landslide territory even thought Whites compose a smaller size of the electorate in 2014 when compared to today.  Especially when Martinez and Gillibrand split the Hispanic vote according to the exit polls.
