While I disagree with bringing up Chelsea Manning as an example, that was not a bad post.

It was pretty bad, but there was a grain of truth to it. It'd sound better if it wasn't from our resident eugenecist Mortimer.

I disagree with Mortimer on most things, but the way he is very unfairly treated here. Yes, he is rather plain-spoken, but he never makes personal attacks on others, he always elaborates on his reasoning, and considers other points of view. He questions whether voluntary, non-racial eugenics is bad. Certainly, one can disagree with him, but why can't we just agree to disagree? The abortion debate should invoke just as much passion as that one, yet people are generally willing to agree to disagree on abortion.

I would argue the "non-racial" component is just so he can have deniability here.

Mortimer is probably the most morally bankrupt person who posts here.

If arguing against immigration is by definition hate speech then indeed there's not much point in discussion of immigration.

Arguing about immigration wasn't the problem. People can do that until they're blue in the face for all I care. The problem is the number of posts that were straight up bigoted that were increasingly appearing. I don't consider supporting immigration restrictions necessarily bigoted either; what I consider bigoted are posts that call New York City a "third world hellhole" because of the number of minority immigrants.

It's a good policy that any thread that has more than 5 posts from Mortimer to be deleted.
