Nestled in their new WI-GOV poll, PPP also tested out Ron Johnson's re-elects for 2016.


Ron Johnson - 41%
Russ Feingold - 47%

Ron Johnson - 41%
Ron Kind - 39%


Approval ratings (Favorable/Unfavorable):

Ron Johnson - 34/36
Russ Feingold - 46/36
Ron Kind - 20/18

For comparison:

Barack Obama - 45/50
Tammy Baldwin - 42/41
Scott Walker - 50/47
Mary Burke - 36/35

I'm in the camp that while I don't think Feingold will run, if he does then he deserves the full support of the Democratic party. I think he knows that he'll need PAC's and such to win, and would rather enjoy retirement than compromise his principles.

Doesn't mean I'm enthused about Ron Kind either. After a solid progressive like Tammy Baldwin beat a semi-popular moderate former Governor last cycle, there's no reason to think we need to run a moderate hero like Kind to win. If Feingold declines, then my wishlist of candidates contains Mark Pocan and Mahlon Mitchell.
