Hassan wins by 3. In a budget with various conservative principles like school vouchers and CRT bans, Sununu signed a 24-week abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest. There's an exception for the life of the mother, but the exception itself is among the weakest in the country. The fact that Sununu signed this budget on a late Friday afternoon without a ceremony says everything you need to know about the consequences of what he's done.
The ban has unsurprisingly provoked the angry New Hampshire women. Support for any sort of an abortion ban here is divided at best. Not including exceptions for rape or incest, including an ultrasound requirement, and tightening the life-of-mother exception are all candidacy killers on their own. Sununu put his entire political career in jeopardy last Friday, even if he passes on a Senate run.
Chris Sununu isn't a Trump guy through and through anymore. He's the guy who lied about protecting women's health to appease McConnell. You're honestly better off running Ayotte at this point. She at least doesn't have a record of abortion extremism.
