Oppressive? This is coming from the nation that only pays attention to its few Italian subjects whenever there is a war. If there's peace, then Malta suffers.

Italy hereby announces the re-annexation of the Contea de Nizza into the Kingdom. Prime Minister Doumerge himself has admitted that "all previous arrangements between France and Italy are hereby cancelled", and we view this to include our Treaty of Turin.

Garibaldi, you can rest in peace knowing that your home is Italian again.

I'll do it.

If I have to be someone I'll be von Schlieffen.

Looks good to me. I think I might own Istria but that's just a minor gripe I guess.

I would also like to announce that I am picking up command of Germany until Cranberry gets back from his holiday. Feel free to address me as Feldmarschall von Schlieffen.

Bravo. Nothing more to say but bravo.

My original plans weren't to attack France, but to provoke a confrontation with Austria instead. I wasn't feeling confident about Germany, considering this happened pre-Russia and I didn't know Cranberry had good war orders, and my big short-term goal was to expand to all of the Dalmatian coast (plus Fiume) and Trentino. I had plans to invade Albania as well in order to create a chokehold in the Adriatic Sea for that, but then Austria got overthrown so I put those on the backburner. The best chance for this would have been in a Russian war without Britain, but then again you'd abandon your plans too if you had the Royal Navy 100 miles from your coast.

Essentially, from the moment Cranberry made the Alsace-Lorraine deal, I was collaborating with Russia to rope France and Britain into a Great War among similar OTL lines. Of course, that failed because the entire world would have been up my ass. Then, I started collaborating with America in Venezuela, the Ottomans in Morocco, and once Cranberry got into the "feel" of the game, I jumped in on the Entente side of the war and turned my eyes to France. I was actually eyeing Egypt and Sudan, and of course, Malta, from Britain, and my general strategy was to hold the Mediterranean Sea, and cut off Britain from there.
