Either the PAC-12 or the NCAA should step in and declare the game a forfeit, with BYU being declared the winner.

Why the players should be penalized is beyond me.  They didn't cause this.  It's not justice when the innocent and/or the uninvolved are punished for the acts of other.

The players aren't being penalized. They still played the game. Oregon still won the game, and even if the NCAA declared it a forfeit that can't be taken away, last time I checked (except in the statsheets, but it's what happens on the field that matters to these players. That's how they make the NFL)

NYE takes the most extreme position on everything.

That is not the most extreme position  I could have called for the NCAA to sanction the Oregon Athletic Program far beyond forfeiting one football game. But I chose not to call for for that, because I saw those kinds of sanctions as counterproductive in this instance.

Clearly Oregon's athletic program should be personally abolished and Oregon State should get their upcoming Big 10 invitation instead.

Okay, first, abolishing Oregon's athletic program is overkill. Second, why would the Big Ten want Oregon? They only wanted UCLA and USC for the Los Angeles media market. By that logic, wouldn't Washington make more sense for them, since they have the Seattle Media Market?
