Well, Fox News is not reacting well.

Quote
Fox News has drawn criticism for sharing a photoshopped image of a US magistrate judge, Bruce Reinhart, who signed the search warrant on the recent FBI search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property, sitting on a private plane across from the convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

Filling in for Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday, guest host Brian Kilmeade showed viewers a digitally altered photo of Reinhart holding a bottle of liquor and a pack of Oreo cookies while sitting across from Maxwell with his feet in her lap.

“This is the judge in charge of the … of the warrant and we’ll see if he’s going to release it next. He likes Oreos and whiskey,” Kilmeade said.

A open source intelligence twitter account I follow, already mentioned they think the "foreign nation" is likely Israel.

If it is Israel, Trump is a dead man walking. Mossad doesn't take that sort of sh**t lying down.

Barring a state that has access only through sharing agreements or that has managed to keep its nuclear arsenal a secret, there are only really three allied states it could be, right? The UK, France, or Israel?

I'm trying to imagine Israel's response if they thought Trump sold the locations of the nuclear subs to the Saudis and...

I said it earlier, but if it is Israel,I'd expect a Mossad hit team to be sent out. They really don't take that lying down.

Mossad is not going to kill Trump. If they are caught in the act that would be a huge problem for Israel.

I can see Israel taking different actions and trying to the destroy Trumps entire life. No doubt Mossad has dirt on Trump.

When was the last time Mossad was caught in the act of killing someone?

When was the last time they tried to kill someone with Secret Service protection?

Okay, good point.

By now, an impeachment of Cannon seems to be justified.

There aren't enough votes in the Senate to remove her. Republicans have chosen their orange God and will do whatever he says until the end of time.

Well, the fact it wasn't Israel in those documents might just save Trump's life.

Who is that beneficial to, the defense or prosecution

Neither.  It's a necessary step for a trial involving classified info to proceed.

EDIT: Trump's lawyer Chris Kise might have some trouble getting a clearance.  He's a registered agent of the Venezuelan government.

Honestly, this probably helps the prosecution slightly. Trump's going to have a lot of trouble finding lawyers who are going to want to both represent him and be able to get (or want to get) the required security clearance.

I wouldn't completely rule out his having to go pro se at some point.

I pity his lawyers having to try argue a case from this.

Is it possible to for a plea bargain to be worked out without the consent of the defendant (not the prosecution really should be offering one, but I think the defense should be trying to get one, with or without Trump's consent)?

If he tells them no then they can't. If he just hasn't said he wants one, then yes they can pursue that. There is reporting today that one of his lawyers tried to get a deal for Trump in the docs case last year and Trump shut him down when he found out.

I could argue as a defense lawyer for Trump that my client isn't competent enough to participate in his own defense, and it might actually work, quite honestly.

And how long do you think it would take Trump to fire you?

He's going to fire me no matter what I try, short of suborning perjury or openly bribing jurors, so I might as well try something that could get him on the streets after three to six months in a psych ward instead of forty years in prison.

Yeah, that'll work out great for the campaign, a court ruling that Trump is incompetent.

Being competent enough to participate in your defense in the court is not the same as being competent enough to be President. Just ask mid-to-late 1980's Reagan.

Susie Wiles, who is a top adviser on Trump's 2024 Campaign was one of the people shown a classified document, and holds a top position at a lobbying firm that serves Chinese Companies.

Quote
Atop Donald Trump campaign aide, who sources told ABC News is one of the unauthorized people shown a classified document by the former president, also holds a top position at a lobbying firm that serves Chinese companies that could possibly pose a threat to national security and have aided in the nation's human rights abuses.

Susie Wiles, a campaign advisor for Trump's 2024 bid for the presidency, is co-chair of Mercury Public Affairs, which has, in recent years, received millions of dollars from Chinese companies, including Yealink, Hikvision and Alibaba, according to The New York Post. ABC News reported late Wednesday that Wiles, who has worked several Republican campaigns including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' 2018 gubernatorial run, was also singled out as one of the people to whom Trump revealed sensitive documents.

Wiles, according to the report, is the "representative of his political action committee" listed in special counsel Jack Smith's 37-count indictment filed earlier this month against Trump. According to the indictment, the representative visited Trump at his Bedminster golf club in August or September of 2021 and was improperly shown a classified map of an unidentified country.

Trump told the aide that "he should not be showing" the document to them and warned the person they "should not get too close," prosecutors wrote.

Wiles' rank in the Trump campaign and her firm's work for potentially hostile entities further complicates Trump's case, the Post added, while noting that "a search of the Justice Department's registry of foreign agents indicated Wiles had not worked directly for those clients."

"Susie could put Trump away for years in just one minute of testimony to Jack Smith," a rival GOP operative told the outlet. "She's got Trump by the balls, which means she can name her price for her loyalty and Trump can't say no."
