I'm not confident they'll be a season at all, but assuming there is, I'll be running our Fantasy Baseball League again.

Major League Baseball will never resume, and the Atlanta Braves will be Eternal World Champions.

(I'm joking in case that wasn't obvious.)

Don't joke like that. It might just come true.

Let me know so I can set the date for the Atlas/Talk Elections Fantasy Baseball Draft.

We've got to be close at this point:

That's not going to be good enough to get a deal out of the Union.

They've made it clear it's "my way or the highway".

For everyone who participated in last year's Fantasy Baseball League, we are live.

The draft is scheduled for April 3, 2022 at 6:00 PM.

Please PM me if you if you do not wish to return for a second season, or if the date and time of the draft does not work for you.

So, out of curiosity, did anyone else predict Kris Bryant signing with the Rockies?

This is weird.  In the Braves-Reds game, Joey Votto is miked up and they're interviewing him while he's playing the field -- with a runner on first.

That just isn't right.

Max Fried's got a perfect game going through five innings in tonight's Braves/Dodgers game.

Miguel Cabrera's one hit shy of 3,000 career hits. So what does Aaron Boone do? He calls for an intentional walk.

The Tampa Bay Rays almost had a combined no hitter last night in their 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox.

Horrible behavior in last night's Yankee's/Guardian's game as Yankees fans were throwing garbage at Guardians outfielders late in the game.

Quote
Fans in the right-field bleachers pelted Cleveland Guardians outfielders with bottles, cans and debris in a chaotic scene moments after Isiah Kiner-Falefa and pinch-hitter Gleyber Torres notched run-scoring hits with two outs in the ninth inning to lift the New York Yankees to a 6-5 victory on Saturday.

Rather than a celebration, Aaron Judge and Yankees teammates rushed toward the wall in right-center field, trying to calm the crowd as security personnel joined the effort.

Cleveland closer Emmanuel Clase (0-2) was one strike away from preserving a 5-4 lead when Kiner-Falefa hit a 100 mph fastball for a tying double. Rookie left fielder Steven Kwan ran hard into the wall chasing the ball and was shaken up, and a trainer came out to check him.

Before play resumed, Cleveland right fielder Oscar Mercado pointed at the stands and center fielder Myles Straw climbed the chain-link fence in left to confront at least one fan face-to-face, while another fan nearby made a derogatory gesture.

"Brutal," Straw said in his postgame availability. "Worst fan base on the planet."

Cleveland manager Terry Francona, acknowledging that the Guardians were a little emotional at the end of the game, wasn't as poignant as Straw, but equally as disappointed.

"I don't think people can throw stuff at our players on the field," Francona said. "That's never going to be OK."

Torres followed by lining a single to right-center for the game-winner. As Mercado and Straw chased the ball in the gap, several fans began throwing objects at them.

Apparently the memo going around among Major League Managers is to throw at Pete Alonso's head. He's been hit twice in the head in nineteen games.

The Mets have been hit with eighteen pitches in nineteen games.

Kind of hard to believe that none of them, or even most of them haven't been intentional.

Should have been a lifetime ban, and it shouldn't be subject to appeal. Rob Manfred dropped the ball.

Mets throw a combined no hitter for their 2nd in franchise history (1st legit one tbf) against the “lol ball go boom” Phillies. Oh and on Gary Cohen birthday. Great night LFGM

The Mets look like they're going to have their best season since 2015.

What's with all the OC impersonations lately. Don't you all know that impersonating a robot only makes things look like robots have taken over the world or something?

Watched that live, it was pretty obviously a mistake pitch.

So says the Cardinals fan.

Angels LHP Reid Detmers threw a no-hitter against the Rays in a 12-0 win for his team.

Astros RHP Justin Verlander took his no-no bid into the 8th against the Twins in a 5-0 win for his team.

After last year, is it too much to ask for a season without a no-hitter?

Robinson Cano, recently released by the Mets is close to a deal with the Padres.

Quote
After being released by the Mets, Robinson Canó appears to have found a new home. The Padres are closing in on a Major League deal with the eight-time All-Star, sources told MLB.com on Thursday.

The move, which was first reported by MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, is not yet final, and the team has not announced the details.

The 39-year-old Canó was designated for assignment by the Mets on May 2 despite still having two years and $37.6 million left on his contract. He batted .195 with one home run and three RBIs in 12 games with New York in 2022. After being DFAed, Canó would make the veteran minimum in San Diego.

If this happens, this is a very interesting deal for San Diego. Obviously Cano isn't starting at Second Base. He's not that good anymore, and even if he were, Jake Cronenworth is really good at Second Base. But, I can easily see Cano entering a platoon of sorts with Luke Voit at Designated Hitter, with Cano hitting against right-handers and Voit against left-handers.

It's also a good signing for the Padres, in that beyond their core (Cronenworth, Nola,Machado, Tatis Jr, Hosmer), the Padres don't have a ton of lineup depth, even if they need an upgrade in the outfield alongside Wil Myers and Jurickson Profar more.
