Mississippi State (The Bulldogs easily win as the Egg Bowl returns to Thanksgiving.  While this is essentially Ole Miss's season (especially because they lost to LSU), they just aren't in the Bulldogs league)

Northern Illinois (Northern Illinois's win against Nebraska is better than Central Michigan's win against Kansas)

Toledo (Toledo locks up a spot in the MAC title game with their win)

Miami(FL) (Yes, the Hurricanes struggled at times against Virginia, and yes this could be a trap game heading into the ACC Championship Game against Clemson, but Pitt just isn't good enough for to make this game competitive. Given how Pitt has played this year, could Pat Narduzzi find his head on the chopping block?)

Navy (Houston has lost to both Tulane and Tulsa this season, which easily cancels out an impressive win over Arizona. Navy has no great wins, but has no embrassing losses either. Close call, but I think Navy's triple option takes it...and I've been wrong about them before, so I'll eat my crow later)

Buffalo (The Bobcats are one of the few teams who have beaten Lane Kiffiin this season, and they're at home. I like their chances to pull off the upset.)

South Florida (UCF's outside playoff shot ends, and the decision over which Group of Five team makes the New Years bowl just gets a little more chaotic  as Charlie Strong outduels Scott Frost as a coach. The one moment of pause I have is that UCF's wins over Maryland and Memphis are better than USF's wins over Illinois and that other than Illinois USF really hasn't played anybody...so it's really anyone's game here)

Iowa (Yes, Iowa lost to Purdue. However, Nebraska just isn't very good this year either, and Iowa should be favored)

Virginia Tech (Playing tough with Miami(FL) should be rewarded, but the Hokies are also a strong side, and probably will win this game)

Texas Tech (The Red Raiders need the win more than the Longhorns do)

Auburn (Let the SEC Chaos begin... Auburn wins the Iron Bowl and locks up a spot in the SEC Championship game by simply playing better defense than Alabama. However even winning the SEC Championship game probably won't get the Tigers in the playoff, as the committee would probably pick a one-loss Alabama or a one-loss Wisconsin (should they lose to Ohio State) over them.

West Virginia (This pick originally was Oklahoma, but Baker Mayfield's suspension changed that)

Wisconsin (The Badgers should win easily)

Georgia (As much as I'd like to pick Georgia Tech, because of the triple-option, the fact is Georgia is a much better team)

Stanford (Once again, Bryce Love dominates the game, and all but clinches the Heisman Trophy with another big win. If Stanford wins the PAC-12 this year and/or he has a big season next year...he could end up a top-ten choice in the NFL Draft in 2018/2019)

Penn State (Maryland isn't very good at all)

Washington (With the Pac-12 North no longer up for grabs, this game got a lot less interesting. With Jake Browning's skill as QB, I have to go with the Huskies)

Northwestern (Illinois is atrocious this year)

Arizona (Arizona is actually putting a good team on the field. Arizona State, by contrast is only putting out mediocrity)

Colorado (Utah has fallen off a cliff lately, with six losses in their last seven games. Will Kyle Wittingham get the sack?)

Iowa State (A team that beat Oklahoma in Norman, should be able to win this one)

SMU (Tulane isn't really very good)

Ohio State (Ohio State won't be going to the Rose Bowl, as that's a playoff game, but they keep their hopes of winning the Big Ten alive and well by winning in this highly charged rivalry, because JT Barrett is far better than any QB Michigan can put on the field)

Purdue (This is a tossup game for either side)

Florida State (The Seminoles, remarkably can still make a bowl game if they win both this game and their game against Louisiana Monroe next week (which apparently is the same week as the ACC Championship game...would have caused all sorts of conflict if Florida State had made it there). Florida technically cannot make a bowl (unless their API is high enough that they qualify as a 5-6 or 5-7 team). The Seminoles need this game more, and they arguably have more talent on both sides of the ball, so I think they win this one...and they should beat Louisiana Monroe next week)

Syracuse (As said so many times, Syracuse is a different team in the Carrier Dome)

Wake Forest (The Demon Deacons did just beat NC State)

Appalachian State

Marshall

Middle Tennessee

Louisiana Monroe

NC State (North Carolina has been abysmal this season)

Boise State (Could Boise State be the Group of Five Representative in the New Year's Bowls after all? They'd need to win the Mountain West, and have UCF, USF and Memphis all lose before or in the AAC Championship game (an almost impossible scenario)

Vanderbilt (Someone is getting their first SEC win. I think it's Vandy)

Oregon (The Civil War ends in a decisive Oregon victory)

Clemson (South Carolina is good, but they're no threat to Clemson)

LSU (The Tigers are better than Texas A&M...and I think we've proven Ed Ogereon is a better Coach than Kevin Sumlin)

Louisiana Tech

BYU

Air Force (Just try and stop the triple option)

Michigan State (This one's easy, and it's embarrassing that I almost forgot to pick it)

Louisville (I don't know how Kentucky stops Lamar Jackson)

Thanks DFW for reminding me to pick the Michigan State/Rutgers and Louisville/Kentucky games.

You have a likely #1 NFL draft pick and you don't become bowl-eligble...yeah you should be fired.

If I'm the UCLA AD, I'm looking at, Rocky Long (San Diego State Head Coach), Chip Kelly (Former Head Coach, Oregon/Philadelphia Eagles), Bryan Harsin (Head Coach, Boise State), Jeff Fisher (Former Head Coach, Los Angeles Rams) or Charlie Strong (Head Coach, USF)

Baker Mayfield is SCUM!  I am so sick of the guy, first the disrespectful flag planting, and now he's injecting our televisions with filth.

No heisman for him.

Personally, I think Bryce Love was already the favorite...and Mayfield could still finish third behind Saquon Barkley.

I'm a TCU fan so I have tons of reasons to hate Baker Mayfield, but y'all crazy if you don't think he's winning the Heisman at this point.....

Clearly you haven't seen Bryce Love play this year.

With Baker Mayfield benched against West Virginia, I am switching my pick from the Sooners to the Mountaineers.

He’s not benched. He’s just not starting.

Half a game of Mayfield just isn't enough for me to justify taking Oklahoma against a good West Virginia squad...remember they also lost to Iowa State at home.

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/11/21/report-lsu-victory-would-not-save-kevin-sumlins-job/

Apparently Kevin Sumlin will be fired after the Texas A&M/LSU game, and Jimbo Fisher is the Aggies top choice to replace him.

This would appear to solve a lot of problems for both Texas A&M and Florida State...

Next year we should do like an ESPN pick em or something like that for this where we have a page with computer generated top games that we pick, a lot easier to track and score Tongue

That does make more sense...but I'm getting the games I'm choosing from ESPN, and I don't know if anyone has a computer program that generates the top games. If you come up with one let me know.

No matter who wins the SEC title game next week, I bet we have two SEC teams in the playoff (either Auburn and Alabama or Georgia and Alabama).

My best guess as to the final rankings will be: (Bold is the most likely team/seeding)

1. Georgia if they win the SEC Championship/Oklahoma if they win the Big Twelve Championship/Clemson (or Miami (FL)) if they win the ACC Championship.

2. Wisconsin if they win the Big Ten/Oklahoma if they win Big Twelve/Miami(FL) (or Clemson) if they win the ACC/USC if they win the PAC-12.

3. Ohio State if they win the Big Ten/Alabama.

4. Auburn if they win the SEC/Alabama/TCU if they win the Big Twelve/UCF if they win the AAC/USC if they win the PAC-12.

So your most likely scenario is

1. Georgia
2. Clemson
3. Alabama
4. USC

That leaves me with some questions:

Why do you consider Georgia winning to be likely two weeks after Auburn blew them out? Why would you put them at #1?

Just....everything about USC:
-What happens to Ohio State to allow USC to jump them? Does a meteor hit their bus on the way home?
-Why would USC jump a Notre Dame that blew them out?
-I assume in your scenario TCU beats Oklahoma; why would you think USC gets in over TCU? TCU's championship win would be against a better team.

Any particular reason you think a championship-less Alabama only drops 1 or 2 spots from a not-that-close loss and then doesn't drop further after championships?

First, Auburn suffered key injuries against Alabama. I can't pick Georgia with confidence against Auburn...but I believe they are favored.

Unless a combination of Wisconsin winning the Big Ten and Oklahoma winning the Big Twelve happens (both are not going to happen) another team will get in...either USC or Ohio State. It could be either, but the committee has been burned by the Buckeyes before, which leads me to believe they would go with USC...as for TCU, I think outside of Oklahoma, they'd undervalue the Big Twelve because there are fewer teams there. And as for Notre Dame, the lack of a conference championship game probably kills them in the end.

Alabama was in regardless of what happened in the Iron Bowl. They certainly will get a better seed if Auburn wins the SEC Championship game, but I think the committee overvalues the Nick Saban aura here and gives them a three seed, not a four seed.

Go ahead...we've only been losing people lately.

USC (I do like Stanford, and they are essentially playing at home...however Sam Darnold and his receivers outduel Bryce Love in a Heisman worthy clash).

UCF (The Knights are playing at home and they've beaten Memphis before. They'll lock up a spot in a New Year's six bowl...and possibly a playoff spot if everything else goes to hell...though it's very unlikely)

Florida Atlantic (I'm not betting against Lane Kiffin)

Oklahoma (Baker Mayfield is easily the best player on the field and Oklahoma's beaten TCU before (which is the weakness of the Big Twelve's Championship game format). As much as I hate to believe it after the loss to Iowa State, Oklahoma locks up a playoff spot with the win)

Georgia (Yes, Auburn won last time around, but their top running back was injured against Alabama, and Georgia is essentially at home with the game in Atlanta)

Boise State (The Broncos won last time they played Fresno State, plus they literally are playing at home, and they don't lose at home)

Clemson (As I have been told, Miami(FL) has struggled to this point, and they just got exposed by Pitt. Clemson, despite their loss to Syracuse has played better this season. The Tigers lock up a spot in the playoff with the win)

Ohio State (The Buckeyes have more playmakers on offense (hi JT Barrett!!!) than Wisconsin does, and are quite passable on Defense as well. Too bad that won't let them leapfrog Alabama for a playoff spot)

Army (The Black Knights have had an excellent season so far, and should be able to win this game, and the Commander in Chief's trophy outright-the question is, if President Trump gets the tax reform bill by game time, will he sign it at halftime?)

Is this an upset because Mullen has left Miss St., or an upset because Mullen is who Florida has gone with?

Florida is a better job than Mississippi State, so I see why Mullen would leave...but Florida had theoretically better options who will be available and not cost as much money (Kevin Sumlin, Todd Graham, maybe Charlie Strong if he were interested).

Jimbo out! Beloved assistant/D Line coach Odell Haggins will be interim for tomorrow.

Thanks for the memories CJF.

I knew it!!!

If I'm FSU, I'd chase someone like Mark Stoops (Head Coach, Kentucky), Gus Malzahn (Head Coach, Auburn), Ed Orgeron (Head Coach, LSU) and Dabo Swinney (Head Coach, Clemson)

PAC-12 Championship Game (in Santa Clara, California)

Stanford at USC (Stanford comes in blazing hot and is a completely different team than they were at the start of the season)

December 2

AAC Championship Game
Memphis at UCF (This should be UCF's shot at the playoff, but instead it's their shot at a NY6 bowl. Hopefully they get a good matchup)

Conference USA Championship Game

North Texas at Florida Atlantic (Kiffin gets it done)

Big Twelve Championship Game (in Arlington, Texas)

TCU at Oklahoma (UO is too much for a talented TCU squad)

SEC Championship Game (in Atlanta)

Georgia at Auburn (UA wins the rematch, but in less convincing fashion)

Mountain West Championship Game

Fresno State at Boise State (Fresno beats Boise's worst team in a while)

ACC Championship Game (in Charlotte)

Miami(FL) at Clemson (The U plays to its opponents. I think they squeak it out on the strength of the turnover chain)

Big Ten Championship Game (in Indianapolis)

Ohio State at Wisconsin (just by virtue of each team's game against UM, I have to give it to Wisconsin. Michigan had no business hanging with OSU with John O'Korn at QB and Wisconsin ground Michigan into dust)

December 9

Army at Navy (in Philadelphia) (Army's best team in decades manages to get it done against Navy.)

Missed a week due to a heavy work schedule.

@NYE: Are you able to split out bowl pick-em results from total season results when the time comes?

Ask DFW, he's compiling the results.

The Bowl schedule will be on this thread, so I imagine the results from the bowls will simply be added to total season results.

I could, If DFW approves add a bonus number of wins/points for doing the best with the bowls offered...

How does ten points for the best total record in bowl games on schedule, and an additional twenty-five points if a poster gets the winner of both semifinals AND the final of the College Football Playoff right?

September 21

Temple at South Florida - Given, think it could be closer than expected though

September 22

Virginia at Boise State - Boise State almost beat Washington State and would've if they knew how to manage time

Utah at Arizona
- gut says Arizona, think it could be a close one

September 23

NC State at Florida State - FSU isn't at tip top shape but meh

Texas Tech at Houston - eh kind of a hard one, I think TTU will pull it out

Texas A&M at Arkansas - Another hard one, after watching TCU - Arkansas I think A&M narrowly wins it

Ohio at Eastern Michigan - no comment

UCF at Maryland - Maryland is the best they have been in a while this year

Alabama at Vanderbilt - Sorry ER Tongue Vanderbilt is good this year but not that good

USC at California - I want to believe in the upset but nah

TCU at Oklahoma State (UPSET!!!) Yes I'm a TCU  fan for those who don't know, I feel great about this game

Toledo at Miami(FL) - Miami (FL) is going to be good this year

Duke at North Carolina - Duke narrowly wins it IMO

Louisiana Tech at South Carolina - OK Dereich, you think South Carolina will win this one at least, right?

Cincinnati at Navy - All of the military teams are great this year

Michigan at Purdue - I hate Michigan but you know how it goes

Syracuse at LSU - Easy pick I think, LSU wins

Mississippi State at Georgia - Georgia will win the SEC East and maybe even the SEC, yes I said it.

Penn State at Iowa - History and all but not from an Iowa that beat UNT 31-14

Florida at Kentucky - Florida isn't that great this year but it's Kentucky

Southern Illinois at Memphis - Memphis is good, dont know much about Southern Illinois

Notre Dame at Michigan State - Fire Brian Kelly please

Washington at Colorado - Pretty obvious one I think

UCLA at Stanford - RIP Stanford this week but UCLA is even more overrated than Stanford is

No way is Georgia beating Alabama in the SEC Championship game.
Well at least I got one thing right lol

To be fair, I said Georgia wouldn't beat Alabama in an SEC Championship game. I never said they wouldn't beat Auburn...

1. Oklahoma
2. Georgia
3. Clemson
 4. Alabama

5. Ohio State
6. Wisconsin
7. USC
8. Auburn
9. UCF
10. Penn State
11. Washington
12.

Sugar: Oklahoma vs Alabama
Rose: Georgia vs Clemson

Orange: USC vs Miami(FL) (ACC tie-in)
Peach: Wisconsin vs UCF
Fiesta: Auburn vs Ohio State
Cotton: TCU vs Penn State

I know this means Georgia and Alabama have the potential of playing each other in the final, but they didn't play in the regular season, and I imagine the committee would be much more interested in preserving the option of a Clemson/Alabama match rubber match for all the marbles.

I'm not sure if a conference can have three teams represented in the playoffs/New Year's six bowls. If they can't that could be a problem for Alabama/Auburn/Ohio State/Wisconsin/Penn State.

UCF at Auburn - hopefully this ends the "UCF got robbed" argument

Citrus Bowl (in Orlando)
Notre Dame at LSU

College Football Playoff-Rose Bowl (in Pasadena, California)
Georgia at Oklahoma

College Football Playoff-Sugar Bowl (in New Orleans)
Clemson at Alabama

College Football Playoff National Championship Game (in Atlanta)
Georgia/Oklahoma winner vs Clemson/Alabama winner

Picking Oklahoma to win it all.......on another note, shouldn't we wait to pick national championship until the matchup is known for sure?

Since you are scoring the results, you can interpret picks for the national championship game any way you wish.

Personally I think you should have to get the specific team right...but I understand if others see it differently.
