I hate to be a spoilsport, but those two things have nothing to do with each other... Which means the Nebraska legislature technically didn't recognize same-sex marriage.
I don't understand. According to the article, they will recognize federally recognized same-sex marriages of members of the armed services for the purposes of getting a gun permit.
Of all the things a gun permit should require marriage (no matter who it's with) shouldn't be one
of them anyways.
Also, If the Federal Government recognizes a same-sex marriage , and Nebraska uses that instead of issuing their own certificate, then you could argue (on a technicality) that Nebraska isn't recognizing same-sex marriage, the Federal Government is.
